I had a lightbulb moment the other week—one of those sparks that hits you in the middle of the chaos while you're juggling the many hats: running a small-yet-mighty event business, building this Substack, and keeping up with social media (which feels more like a chore these days, and less of a creative escape it once was).
Since the start of the year, I’ve been back in my hometown of New York City. I rented out my just-renovated Hollywood bungalow—out of necessity more than desire—and it’s been emotional, to say the least. But in the swirl of all the movement and decisions, I’ve found myself coming back to the same grounding place: the table.
I’ve been feeling the ache of not having my own kitchen to cook in, to play in, to create something new. But then I remembered—I have years of recipes and beautiful gatherings that never made it to Substack, and have never been pulled together quite like this.
Eight years ago, freshly landed in Los Angeles and feeling more than a little lost, I started cooking out of my tiny casita. It was pure instinct—an act of joy and survival. That spark grew into the business I run today.
Supper Club was where this all began. I used to sell tickets to backyard dinners at my house in LA. The experience around that table is still inspires everything I create.
But let’s be honest—pulling off a few courses, styling a table and setting the bar, and actually being present enough to enjoy your guests? It doesn’t come naturally to everyone. So I’m going to show you how to do it.
Finding my voice here, and creating real value on this platform, is an evolution. The lightbulb moment? To stop thinking about these posts as just single recipes or hosting tips—and start thinking of them as full-on Lazy-Fancy guides. Think of it as your personal Supper Club playbook.

These Lazy-Fancy guides will land in your inbox twice a month—complete with menus, recipes, shopping lists, decor inspiration, and the occasional “what to wear” hostess edit. Effortful but not overdone. First up: a spring menu. We’re all stealing al fresco dining moments in New York whenever the weather allows.
So I started there—gathering my go-tos, the spring flavors I crave on repeat—and built a step-by-step, printable Lazy-Fancy guide for your next dinner.
Because when in doubt, we come back to the table. Always.
