Unless you live in Europe, and stopping in at the local bread baker, fish or cheese monger and produce stand is just a part of your day (a girl can dream), frequent trips to the grocery store can make cooking less exciting and ordering in more enticing. Having a well stocked pantry is the backbone in cooking interesting meals day-to-day.
After almost a full-year of nomadic living coming home, and getting my pantry and fridge stocked is first step in me being inspired to cook.
Pantry Storage
The key to a well-organized pantry, is being able to see everything. Despite the weight, these glass jars are my favorite for pantry storage because they are easy to use, the lids pop open and seal air-tight, plus they fit your hand with a 1/2 c measuring cup. These plastic containers are also great for small spaces. These labels make everything clear.
Pro-tip: if you’ve had your flours and nuts for over a year especially not stored in air-tight container, they are likely rancid and need to be replaced, they are “living” just like all food.
