Stepping into the spa at the Hotel Chelsea, I was instantly inspired. The design—thoughtful, inviting, and layered with decor details—had considered everything. And there, sitting on the counter, was a familiar favorite: Sangre de Fruta’s body lotion. I first discovered this otherworldly elixir at Shou Sugi Ban House while producing an event, and it became my summer savior for sun-drenched skin. Now, in the depths of winter, it’s rescuing my parched skin once again.

Lately, I’ve been floating between hotels and guest rooms, and it’s got me thinking about the small luxuries that transform a bathroom from functional to indulgent—those details that elevate the everyday. Adding to that, I recently rented out my Los Angeles bungalow for a few months while I travel. The few days I spent at home this year were dedicated to clearing out and preparing my guest room and second bathroom for renters.
